Delete your account and data
This page explains how to delete your Kotonoha account, what gets removed, and what lives somewhere we cannot reach.
How to delete your account
In the app
Open Profile → Account → Delete account, and confirm. Your data is erased from our servers first, and your account is removed only once that has succeeded. If we cannot reach our server at that moment, nothing is deleted and you are asked to try again.
By email
You do not need the app installed. Email kotonohajapaneseapp@gmail.com from the address your account uses, with the subject Delete my account. We action it within 30 days.
What is deleted
Everything we hold that is tied to your account is removed, and it cannot be recovered:
- Your account record — account ID, email address, which sign-in method you used, and whether the email was verified.
- Support conversations — your tickets, every message in them, and any screenshots or files you attached.
- Gift and coupon records — any codes granted to or redeemed by your account.
- Notification registrations — the tokens that let us send you a reply notification.
What is not on our servers
Some things are not ours to delete, because we never had them or they are held in your own account elsewhere:
- Your study progress — words, levels, reviews, kanji and your own decks are stored on your device and are never uploaded to us. Deleting your account does not remove them; uninstalling the app does.
- Google Drive backups — if you turned backup on, the file sits in your own Google Drive, in its hidden app-data folder. Delete it from Google Drive.
- Purchases and subscriptions — Google Play holds your payment details and we never see them. Our server keeps the subscription's state under a one-way hash of the purchase token, with no account attached to it, which is why deleting your account cannot reach it. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the Play Store first, otherwise it keeps renewing.

كيفية حذف الحساب
من داخل التطبيق
افتح الملف الشخصي ← الحساب ← حذف الحساب، ثم أكّد. تُمحى بياناتك من خادمنا أولًا، ولا يُحذف الحساب إلا بعد نجاح ذلك. وإذا تعذّر الوصول إلى خادمنا في تلك اللحظة، فلن يُحذف شيء ويُطلب منك المحاولة مرة أخرى.
عبر البريد الإلكتروني
لا تحتاج إلى تثبيت التطبيق. أرسل رسالة إلى kotonohajapaneseapp@gmail.com من العنوان المرتبط بحسابك، وليكن موضوع الرسالة «حذف حسابي». ننفّذ الطلب خلال 30 يومًا.
ما الذي يُحذف
يُحذف كل ما نحتفظ به مما يرتبط بحسابك، ولا يمكن استرجاعه:
- سجلّ حسابك — معرّف الحساب، وعنوان البريد الإلكتروني، وطريقة تسجيل الدخول المستخدمة، وما إذا كان البريد قد جرى تأكيده.
- محادثات الدعم — طلبات الدعم وكل الرسائل داخلها وأي صور أو ملفات أرفقتها.
- سجلات الهدايا والقسائم — أي رموز مُنحت لحسابك أو استُعمِلت فيه.
- رموز الإشعارات المسجَّلة لجهازك — التي تتيح لنا إرسال إشعار إليك بالرد.
ما ليس موجودًا على خادمنا
هناك أمور لا نملك حذفها، إمّا لأنها لم تصل إلينا أصلًا وإمّا لأنها محفوظة في حسابك لدى جهة أخرى:
- تقدّمك في الدراسة — الكلمات والمستويات والمراجعات والكانجي ومجموعاتك الخاصة محفوظة على جهازك ولا تُرفع إلينا إطلاقًا. حذف الحساب لا يزيلها، بل إلغاء تثبيت التطبيق هو ما يزيلها.
- النسخ الاحتياطية على Google Drive — إذا شغّلت النسخ الاحتياطي، فالملفات موجودة في حسابك أنت على Google Drive داخل مجلد بيانات التطبيق المخفي. احذفها من Google Drive.
- المشتريات والاشتراكات — تحتفظ Google Play ببيانات الدفع ولا نراها نحن. أما خادمنا فيحفظ حالة الاشتراك تحت بصمة أحادية الاتجاه لرمز الشراء، دون أي حساب مرتبط بها، ولهذا لا يطالها حذف حسابك. حذف الحساب لا يُلغي الاشتراك. ألغِ الاشتراك من متجر Play أولًا، وإلا فسيستمر التجديد.
